Hybrid interpreting
Interpreters on Zoom, the hall on its own channels
The interpreters sat somewhere else. Delegates in the hall heard them in headsets, channel by channel.
Assignment
Interpreting had to be in place without the interpreters travelling to the hall.
Challenge
The hall needed to hear the interpreters in headsets, with clean audio from the meeting rather than a microphone in the room.
What we did
The interpreters worked over Zoom. Audio went from the mixing desk to the platform, and the interpreted audio came back on its own channels.
Result
Delegates in the hall heard the interpreters in headsets without the interpreters sitting in the venue.
